These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made from Toast’s Vintage Finds. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

Vintage & Condition

Toast’s Vintage Finds specialises in vintage and pre-owned furniture, lighting and decorative objects. By their nature, these pieces have had a previous life and will generally show signs of age and use.

Minor scratches, marks, patina, colour variations and other age-related characteristics are normal for vintage items and form part of their character.

Each item is inspected before being offered for sale. Known damage, significant repairs or imperfections beyond what can reasonably be expected from an item of its age and nature will be described and, where possible, shown in the product photographs.

The age, vintage nature, condition description, photographs, disclosed restorations and specifically mentioned imperfections of an item form part of the agreement and of what may reasonably be expected from the item.

Product Descriptions & Photographs

We make every reasonable effort to describe and photograph our items accurately.

Product photographs form an important part of the description and should be reviewed carefully before purchasing. Colours and finishes may appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography and screen settings.

Measurements are provided as accurately as reasonably possible, but minor variations may occur.

Unless stated otherwise:

• Lamps are supplied without light bulbs.

• Decorative objects used for styling, such as books, plants, ceramics or accessories, are not included.

• Only the item or items specifically described in the product listing are included in the purchase.

If you require additional photographs, measurements or information, please contact us before placing your order.

Inspection & Restoration

Items are inspected before being added to the collection.

Where appropriate, furniture may be cleaned, serviced, repaired or restored to make it suitable for continued use while respecting its original character.

Lighting is inspected and tested before sale. Electrical components may be repaired or replaced where necessary. If a lamp is intended for decorative purposes only or requires specific installation or electrical work, this will be stated where relevant.

Authenticity & Attribution

We make every reasonable effort to identify designers, manufacturers, materials and production periods accurately.

Attributions are based on available information such as labels, stamps, construction details, catalogues, reference material and specialist knowledge.

Due to the nature and age of vintage objects, complete historical documentation is not always available. Unless expressly stated as documented or confirmed, information concerning attribution, manufacturer or production period represents our good-faith assessment based on the information available to us.

Prices

All prices displayed on the website are in euros and include VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise.

Delivery, courier or transport costs are not included in the product price unless specifically stated.

Orders & Payment

An order is placed when you complete the checkout process and submit payment using one of the available payment methods.

After placing an order, you will receive an order confirmation by email.

Because most pieces in our collection are unique, occasional inventory errors can occur, for example when an item has been sold through another sales channel shortly before an online order is placed.

If an item is genuinely unavailable, or if an obvious technical or pricing error has occurred that could reasonably have been recognised as an error, we will contact you as soon as possible. Where an order cannot legally or practically be fulfilled, any payment received will be refunded using the original payment method.

Nothing in this section limits any statutory rights available to consumers.

Delivery

Delivery and transport arrangements depend on the size of the item and the destination.

Where delivery is requested, transport may be quoted and invoiced separately after purchase. The cost depends on factors such as the item, destination and transport requirements.

The customer is responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery information and for ensuring that the item can reasonably be delivered to the stated address.

For larger furniture, customers should consider access restrictions such as staircases, lifts, doorways and narrow passages before ordering.

Delivery estimates are estimates unless a specific delivery date has expressly been agreed.

Collection

Orders selected for collection can be collected from our showroom by appointment.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, purchased items must be collected within 14 days after we notify you that the item is ready for collection.

Collection from the showroom does not by itself turn an online purchase into an in-person purchase. An order concluded online or otherwise at a distance remains subject to the statutory rules applicable to distance purchases.

Extended Storage

We are happy to store purchased items free of charge during the standard 14-day collection period.

If you need us to store an item for longer, please contact us before purchasing. Extended storage may be possible by prior written agreement, depending on the item, available space and requested storage period.

We do not charge storage fees unless separately and expressly agreed.

Extended storage cannot be guaranteed indefinitely.

In the event of a relocation, change of premises, or other circumstances requiring us to vacate or cease using our current premises, a previously agreed extended storage period may need to be shortened. We will notify the customer as soon as reasonably possible and provide a reasonable period in which to collect the item or arrange alternative transport.

If an item is not collected within an agreed collection period, we may contact the customer and provide a reasonable final period in which collection or delivery must be arranged. If the item remains uncollected after that period, we reserve the right to take any further steps available under applicable law.

Alternative collection or storage arrangements must be agreed in writing.

Showroom Purchases

Purchases that are viewed and concluded in person at our showroom are not distance purchases and therefore do not have the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal that applies specifically to distance contracts.

This does not affect any other statutory consumer rights, including rights relating to conformity or defective products.

An order that was concluded online remains a distance purchase even if the customer later visits the showroom to collect it.

Legal Guarantee & Conformity

All consumers retain their statutory rights under applicable consumer law.

Products must conform to what the customer may reasonably expect on the basis of the agreement.

Because our products are vintage and pre-owned, factors such as age, previous use, condition, price, product description, photographs, disclosed restoration work and specifically identified imperfections are relevant when determining what may reasonably be expected from an item.

Normal age-related wear or an imperfection that was clearly disclosed before purchase does not in itself mean that an item fails to conform to the agreement.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

Returns & Right of Withdrawal

Consumers purchasing online or otherwise at a distance generally have a statutory right of withdrawal.

Privacy

Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Applicable Law

These Terms & Conditions and agreements with Toast’s Vintage Finds are governed by Dutch law.

If you are a consumer residing in another country, this choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections that apply to you under applicable law.
