Severin Hansen

Severin Hansen Jr. was a Danish furniture designer known for refined tables and case furniture from the mid-20th century. His designs combine precise construction with clean geometric forms and carefully selected wood.

Hansen worked closely with Haslev Møbelsnedkeri, which produced many of his best-known designs during the 1950s and 1960s. His furniture often features distinctive mitred corner joints that create a continuous transition between the legs and tabletop or cabinet frame.

Rosewood and teak appear frequently in his work. Hansen kept ornamentation to a minimum and instead used strong proportions, precise joinery and expressive wood grain to define each piece. His designs include coffee tables, nesting tables, desks and other furniture.
