FDB Møbler

FDB Møbler is a Danish furniture manufacturer with roots in the cooperative movement of the 20th century. Established as FDB’s furniture division in 1942, it aimed to bring well-designed, functional furniture to a broad Danish audience.

Børge Mogensen became the first head of the design studio and helped establish its approach to furniture. The company later worked with designers such as Poul M. Volther, Jørgen Bækmark and Ditte and Adrian Heath. Their work focused on practical construction, durable materials and straightforward forms.

Many FDB Møbler designs use solid woods such as oak and beech. Dining chairs, tables and other everyday furniture formed an important part of the collection, with functionality and accessible production at the centre of the design process.
