Danish Teak Chest of Drawers, Denmark, 1970s
This Danish chest of drawers from the 1970s is defined by its restrained proportions and carefully balanced detailing. The rectangular cabinet rests on tapered solid teak legs, giving the piece a light architectural presence while maintaining generous storage. Warm teak veneer wraps continuously around the cabinet and drawer fronts, allowing the natural grain and subtle colour variation to become the defining feature of the design.
The five full-width drawers are fitted with sculpted circular recessed pulls in solid teak, a distinctive detail that lends rhythm and character to the otherwise understated façade. Fine shadow lines between the drawers and the precisely framed cabinet demonstrate the careful cabinetmaking typical of Danish furniture from the period. The clean surfaces and absence of unnecessary ornament allow the quality of the materials and craftsmanship to take centre stage.
Offering ample storage without overwhelming a space, the chest is equally suited to a bedroom, living room or entrance hall. Its modest footprint and balanced proportions make it a versatile piece, while the warm teak tones complement both contemporary and mid-century interiors.
The chest has been carefully cleaned, fully inspected and treated with a high-quality furniture oil after restoration, allowing the teak to regain its depth and warmth while preserving its natural character. It remains in excellent vintage condition with only light signs of age and use consistent with its history.

Deense Teakhouten Ladekast, Denemarken, jaren 70
