Designed by Carl Thore, the pseudonym of Sigurd Lindkvist, this elegant pendant is one of the most recognisable lighting designs to emerge from Sweden during the mid-century period. Its carefully layered construction reflects Thore’s fascination with controlled light, combining sculptural form with exceptional functionality.

The pendant is executed in brushed aluminium with warm brass-toned accents. The concentric shades conceal the light source while softly reflecting the light between each layer, creating an even, glare-free illumination that is ideal above a dining table, kitchen island or workspace. The restrained proportions and balanced geometry give the lamp a timeless presence that sits comfortably in both vintage and contemporary interiors.

The original Granhaga Metallindustri label remains present inside the lamp, confirming its authenticity.

Deze elegante hanglamp, ontworpen door Carl Thore – het pseudoniem van Sigurd Lindkvist – behoort tot de bekendste Zweedse verlichtingsontwerpen uit de mid-century periode. De zorgvuldig opgebouwde gelaagde kap laat perfect zien hoe Thore sculpturale vormgeving wist te combineren met een doordachte lichtspreiding.

De lamp is uitgevoerd in geborsteld aluminium met warme messingkleurige accenten. De concentrisch opgebouwde kappen onttrekken de lichtbron aan het zicht en laten het licht op een zachte, verblindingsvrije manier tussen de verschillende lagen reflecteren. Hierdoor ontstaat een aangename verlichting die zich uitstekend leent voor boven een eettafel, kookeiland of werkplek. De uitgebalanceerde proporties en ingetogen vormgeving geven de lamp een tijdloze uitstraling.

Het originele Granhaga Metallindustri-label is nog aanwezig aan de binnenzijde van de lamp en bevestigt de authenticiteit.
