Model 239-41 Vase, West Germany, 1960s–1970s

This striking West German ceramic vase perfectly captures the bold forms and rich glazes that made Fat Lava pottery so distinctive during the 1960s and 1970s. With its tall, elegant silhouette and deeply coloured finish, it makes a statement whether displayed on its own or filled with branches or dried flowers.

The vase is finished in a rich glossy brown glaze, complemented by a raised zigzag band that wraps around the body and adds texture and depth to the design. The contrast between the smooth glazed surface and the sculptural relief gives the piece a strong architectural presence while retaining the warmth characteristic of West German ceramics.

Deze karaktervolle West-Duitse keramische vaas laat prachtig zien waarom het keramiek uit de jaren 60 en 70 nog altijd zo geliefd is. Met zijn hoge elegante vorm en diepe glazuur is het een opvallend object dat zowel los als met takken of droogbloemen uitstekend tot zijn recht komt.

De vaas is afgewerkt met een rijke glanzend bruine glazuurlaag en voorzien van een verhoogde zigzagband die rondom het lichaam loopt. Dit reliëf geeft het ontwerp extra diepte en textuur, terwijl het contrast tussen het gladde glazuur en het sculpturale patroon zorgt voor een krachtige uitstraling.

Aan de onderzijde is de vaas gemerkt met 239-41, waarmee het modelnummer wordt bevestigd.
